As an intern project expert, you will be responsible for the complete and structured work preparation within Port Projects, both technically and administratively. For this you will work closely with the project engineers.

Your job duties are packed with variety!

During the planning phase of the projects -which include roads, quays, bridges and locks in the Antwerp port area- you will support the project engineer -and he you of course! You support him/her so that unforeseen issues can be dealt with immediately and proactively with minimal impact on the project. This way you contribute to an efficient and customer-oriented execution of the activities taking into account the existing resources and people.

You will be responsible for preparing specifications and drawing up specifications, including their processing and evaluation. You will study the existing standards applicable to the project. In this way, you ensure optimal support for the projects and make the procurement process run efficiently. To this end, you work closely and proactively with the Port Authority's purchasing department.

You will follow up on all preliminary investigations of the design, provide support for the preparation of permit applications and coordinate everything with the project engineer, external parties (authorities, customers) and other departments of the Port Authority.

You actively provide planning support. During the planning phase of the project, you provide the data to the project manager or project engineer for the budget estimate. For the various sub-assignments of a project, you collaborate on the risk analyses

During the execution phase of the project-based works, you will support the other engineers, experts and supervisors by a.o. technical interventions. You will also ensure a structured follow-up of lessons learned during the design and execution phase of the project.

You search for technical documentation and help maintain all technical documentation. By following up the technical files, you contribute to the realization of optimal knowledge management. You apply your technical and digital knowledge and innovative mindset for an optimal management of the projects.

Work location depends on the project Kauwenstein or quay 102. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in projects in the fascinating and complex environment of a global port!
